Bio-Mat (FIR) Therapy provides a variety of
Our Bio-Mat provides the healthy benefits of natural sunlight, without any of the dangerous effects of solar radiation. Infrared light is part of the sun’s invisible spectrum. The rays invisible to the human eye are: infrared rays, ultraviolet, x-rays and microwaves.
The Bio-Mat uses the Far-Infrared Ray (FIR) and this ray is able to penetrate through human tissue, muscle and bone to encourage the cell metabolism and urges resonant absorption to the areas needing repair. FIR therapy has been used to treat various health problems with positive results. Some conditions include: arthritis pain, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, hemorrhoids, cystitis, gastritis, asthma, muscle tension/spasms, poor skin tone, acne, eczema and psoriasis. FIR therapy can help calm and relieve stress, decrease blood pressure, increase oxygen flow to our brain, boost energy, increase our immune system, defend against infection, and produce an overall feeling of wellbeing.

What To Expect
In our office you would lay on the mat which is composed of special rocks that are known to give off the Far-Infrared Rays. The mat is comfortable, warm and the far-infrared rays radiate about 6 inches above the surface.
Think of this mat as providing a ray that penetrates the body, exciting the tissues to heal, engorge with oxygenated blood. Unlike many of the other physical therapy procedures, this mat works on muscle, tendon, ligament and BONE. Treatments last up to ½ hour and sleep is encouraged.
The Bio-Mat is often combined with therapeutic massage in our office so that during the massage you lay on the Bio-Mat. This gives added healing.
